New Managing Director at Schwan Cosmetics

Heroldsberg, 1 July 2014 – Dr Jörg Karas, long-standing member of the executive board of Schwan-STABILO Cosmetics GmbH & Co. KG and until now responsible for Research and Product Development, is the new Managing Director of Schwan-STABILO Cosmetics GmbH & Co. KG.

Born in Rhineland-Palatinate in 1969, Dr Karas has been involved with the Franconian family-owned company since 1999 and was appointed to the Schwan Cosmetics executive board in 2009.


Dr Karas, who has a doctorate in chemistry from Heidelberg University, is looking forward to his new challenges: “I have got to know and value the company and the

cosmetics sector in various, in some cases international,

management positions. Schwan Cosmetics will continue to set innovation and customer-orientation benchmarks in this industry and further consolidate its excellent position in service and operations.”


Dr Karas is taking over the functions of Ms Herta Fischer who will remain a member of the executive board and concentrate on Human Resources and Systems until she retires in the middle of next year.


In addition to being responsible for the Cosmetics division, Dr. Karas has been appointed to the executive board of the Schwan-STABILO Group and,

together with Sebastian Schwanhäusser and Martin Reim, CFO, will be responsible for the management of the three divisions ‘writing instruments’, ‘cosmetics’ and ‘outdoor’.
